Hurricane Ian - Crisis Communications
On September 28, 2022, Hurricane Ian slammed into SWFL affecting the golden coast of Florida. Marco Island was impacted greatly which affected my place of work and 1200+ Members at Hideaway Beach Club.
Through the use of drone video, voiceover, photos and video provided from the Hideaway Team and Membership, I was able to create multiple communication efforts through the form of video media to keep the Membership updated on their home.
Emails and push notifications were also utilized as an effort to keep everyone on one page.
Let’s Soar.
Let me take your company’s media to new heights - as an FAA Drone Certified Pilot, I am experienced with capturing event footage, property aerials, and more.
Let’s Promote.
Sometimes photos and words can only do so much. From large scale promotion to small tutorial videos, videos capture the attention on any media platform and make you look great.
Let’s Educate.
Videos can serve as the best resource to document an important cause. A project that I recently completed and that is still in effect as of today is the creation of a video to raise awareness of the ecosystem of Tigertail Lagoon & Sand Dollar Island on Marco Island that is at risk. Two videos were created in all, one for internal (email) communications to the membership at Hideaway Beach Association and one for public use, government use, and Facebook advertisement for the people of Marco Island and the surrounding Naples area. (The one below is the external version.)
"One major storm could close off the lagoon, but actions have been proposed to avert this situation. A project being reviewed by state and federal agencies will restore this vital ecosystem." The lagoon provides a space for marine, wetland, and beach habitats to co-exist with one another.
Part of this project dealt with partnering with Huminston & Moore, a local engineering firm, for drone footage, along with Friends of Tigertail Beach for providing a spokesperson and the drive to promote this project, and the Hideaway Beach Tax District, who is heading the entire motion and project forward.
Continuing on from the Tigertail Lagoon / Sand Dollar Island Restoration Project video, phase 2 of the marketing of this project was running a Facebook advertisement. Below are the insights after completing this 7-day ad.
From starting from ground zero with a niche "community chatter", the page is growing stamina with 40 likes purely from running the video ad nearly 2 weeks ago.
